I wanted to get one but then reading reviews from different ones there're too many complaints about how basically these combo machines don't actually dry well and clothes just come out hot but not actually dry..so I don't know anymore... Does anyone know why that is, or have a different experience?

Tried them a couple times, once at a hotel and once at a college dorm I was doing a work orientation at. Both times it did nothing to dry the clothes even after putting it back in and starting it over multiple times. It's a nice idea to save space but I think it just doesn't work, certainly nowhere as well as a normal dryer.

Oh man what a bummer. I thought I'd found a good one but probably not gonna be worth the risk if this is the case and there're similar comments on its review. Weird to call them washer-dryers if they don't do half of the job

They're never going to dry as well as a stand alone dryer. They're a compromise product for those who don't have the electrical or space to run two dedicated machines. There is also additional maintenance in cleaning out the interior of the machine a few times a year because they don't have a traditional duct like a normal dryer and the interior will eventually clog with lint because there isn't anywhere for it to go.

Hm maybe that's the issue people are having, cause many of them mention how it dried well initially but then after a few months it's when clothes just come out pretty much wet

Yeah, that's people not reading the manual.

Depending on the design, cleaning it out is kind of pain since it involves dragging the machine out (requires access to all sides of said dryer) and partially disassembling the machine. If you're just doing laundry for one it's not so bad but if you're trying to do a family's worth of clothes it's gonna get clogged quick.

It honestly isn't worth it unless you have literally no other options.

I had one while I was living in a small apartment for a few months, they're better than nothing but yeah, you're still going to have to air dry your clothes afterwards just not as much. They're basically just if you have absolutely no space for a dedicated dryer.

Basically, it dries clothes but they were almost always still damp afterwards. I think people who have clothes still straight up wet after using them probably need to do some maintenance on them.

Yeah, that's pretty much all i've heard about them. I'd honestly just try to find older style standing top loader unit if you need space.

So basically clean the filter a lot so the dryer keeps drying.

Air dry is great if the weather is OK.

You don't want wet laundry drying in the house though, just causes damp and can lead to health problems.

I just bought one of those heat pump dryers. Supposed to be more environmentally friendly.

Oh he was serious ok. I thought he was trolling. Not sure how he supposes I'd wash sheets, covers, and all that. And yeah, I dont need to hang all that shit around my apartment nor mess up my hands and time, which will end up doing worse for the environment.

It's worth adding I did it once with a couple of shirts, it was a pain in the ass, and the floor got stained from the water that dripped (even with me squeezing them before hanging) and then they were all stiff at the end lol. So no thanks grandpa.
