Some are very obvious candidates, like Pesci, De Niro and Pacino
Some are largely known for one role (Gandolfini and Brando) but they were iconic roles Some like Frank Vincent, Christopher Walken and Harvey Keitel were rarely the stars of big mobster/crime films/shows but they appeared often in them and were usually very memorable My vote is for Joe Pesci. --- Started from the bottom now we here ... probably James Gandolfini (RIP).
the others often play characters that feel larger than life/glamorized (like, they're difficult to imagine as real people). Gandolfini, on the other hand, played Tony Soprano as a "real person" - you could see someone like that existing somewhere. --- Don't you agree, Zach? https://streamable.com/enq4r7 ...
