Batman is a better detective and problem solver. Martian Manhunter can shape-shift, read minds, turn invisible, become intangible, while still having super-strength, flight and laser vision. Green Lanterns are very powerful in their own right and extremely versatile. I think they're referring to the when the public found out the Watchtower had a laser pointed towards Earth due to Luthor hacking it. I am not sure if that's the episode, but the speech they're referring to is given on a stage in broad daylight.
