Could only work for 1 hour, 2 hours or 3 hours but would always get paid for seven.
Obviously it's awsome when you get short hours but the unpaid overtime shifts sucked ass.
There were days where we were understaffed or the volume was super high and we have to work 8 hour, 9 hour and 10 hour shifts but only got paid for 7 hours max.

That sounds legally questionable

Hopefully you worked as few hours as possible for as long as possible to make up for getting shafted in ot.

Isnt this basically what salaried is? You make the same money regardless of hours?

No salaried is when you work 50 hours each week at least and then you're supposed to be thankful when they let you leave like a half hour early maybe once a month on a Friday

Yes, it sounds like a unionized salaried role, similar to teaching. You are contracted for a certain number of hours, with a negotiated salary. Sometimes theres a lot more work, but there is no overtime pay.

Yes, this is just a a salaried role

Im in a union, we have 8hr minimums
