Highlights: He saw Highwind, so Cid is almost certainly in the game. But with nothing showing him off, he's likely to be an extra party member like Red XIII was in Remake. Red XIII rides a chocobo in probably the exact way you imagine a giant cat to ride a chicken, so it's hilarious. There's a seemingly pretty extensive chocobo customization aspect with pieces of armor that you can set with custom colors. Synergies are basically what you'd expect. They're like dual techs in Chrono Trigger where two characters work together to do a limit-like ability. They trigger the more you use unique abilities, so you're encouraged to change up which character you're using. Each pair of characters have their own synergy and you unlock more as you level. You can't bring saved characters over, but you do get a bunch of bonus materia to start off with if you have a save file. So I'm glad we had a 500 post topic about that. It's not true open world. Jesse says it's more like "open zone" and compares it to FFXIV and FFXVI. He says it's not huge, but a lot of areas were blocked off in the demo he played, so he can't say for sure how big it is.
