Never tried Waffle House or iHop and I live in the South lol.

I get a waffle and double hash brown with onion cheese and tomato. Anytime I travel in the Waffle House region I always hit them up. Its not great but it scratches a certain food itch.

I've only had their food after a night at the bar but it's been worth it.

Unfortunately, they cut what you can add way down at the one around here during covid. I dont know if they ever brought everything back.

We didn't really remove anything. They don't have the menu for many of the items but we still have them. Like the steaks, chops, omelets and all. The menus were downsized because of covid because it was meant to speed things up but honestly it just seems stupid.

I'm tired of having to recite an imaginary menu to people who need to know more options.

The last time some things were cut(unless its different elsewhere) were the Jalapeno cheddar biscuits and ribeye. That was years ago though.

I'd be wary of the grits. People are lazy and don't cook them right or the problem at our store is that they'll use their fresh grits and leave the others in backup which cause them to dry out or break down, leaving us to have to make replacements and sometimes its just hard to replace so we use them.

This. Love their burgers and waffles. Food is cheap but good, at least at the ones i've been to.

Im definitely getting hash browns, Ill probably order too much to try a lot of stuff.

Your best bet is to get the allstar then.

It gets you eggs, hashbrowns(or grits), toast(wheat, biscuit, or raisin toast), waffle, and meat(bacon or sausage or ham)

I'd suggest scrambled with cheese. Its not something you'll be able to replicate at home and you really should try the waffle there.The hashbrowns can be modified so you can add such and such to it

If you prefer something like lunch, I'd say the cheese steak is pretty good. The chicken as well but you should definitely at least have the waffle alongside it regardless of what you order.

Pics. Also I have rules about Waffle House's. I've been to a few in Jacksonville, Atlanta,Dallas after midnight and 3/4 of the times it was a huge mistake. All were near apartments and a barred up gas stations.

Great food but a lot of locations can get sketchy fast after hours. I would stop at one off of an interstate easily though.

The food is solid for the price.

It's the people you want to avoid.

That's half of the fun. Saint Louis has a place called Courtesy Diner, there used to be a bunch of them but now there is only 2 left that I know of. They are great for late night food and it was always an interesting mix of people around midnight or after.

Its right off a freeway, lots of hotels around. The ones in KC arent in super sketchy areas.

Yeah, have to add cheese and something else to the hash browns, mushrooms, onions, whatever you personally prefer.

I always loved the breakfast wraps, eggs, cheese, sausage or bacon I dont know if they still do them, the other guy seems like they would know better.

Those are the best ones. Just gotta get there at the right time before everyone shows up.

Mine still offers the physical full menu if you ask. I just know the shit by now so no need.

Also, yeah, someone mentioned it above but a lot of people sleep on WaHo burgers cause well... it's not called hamburger house I suppose. But they're good!

The cheesesteak melt is a solid lunch option as well, but if you're in a Waffle House and it isn't pitch black night something is probably wrong.
