I don't mind the taste or texture of whole wheat, though it's definitely inferior to refined wheat. My reason to avoid is that it gives me major gas if I eat it as much as I prefer to have bread and pasta. I eat enough legumes and vegetables to not need the fiber or nutrient boost, so my only reason to eat it is if it's cheap enough to stock up on.
