I'm having a blast with the game, on ng+4 right now and don't feel burnt out one bit

What weapon is that? I'm currently level 35 after about 30 hours or so. Only invested in ballistics and rifle, but I'm very curious about EM and particle stuff. I haven't started speccing into weapon mods, so I'd need to do so if that's some custom jobber you got there.

But yeah, loving it.

There are easy ways to level along with some glitches. No idea if TC got there naturally or not though.

I'm on newgame+4

to powerlevel without using exploits/cheats/mods, just go to a high level planet and mass murder the fauna, you level super quick

RIght now i'm leveling in the Bel system which is only lvl 55, (max is 75), but the fauna spawnrates are the best i've seen so you get more overall xp cause you're getting more overall kills, also it's low gravity so you can get up to vantage points easily

Particle beam weapons are crazy strong for all around use. Right now i'm on a low investment newgame+ run where I didn't bother getting unique legendaries, i just grabbed this from a vendor

Sounds like I need to invest in better weapons first then. Every time I fight fauna that's higher level than me, they take a long time to kill just one. So I've been avoiding higher level planets because that's not good for my ammo reserves lol

the stealth damage multipler is crazy strong 4x with a range weapon while sneaking, 4.5x if it has a silencer on it, even with a 200 damage assault rifle i'm 1 or 2 hitting most animals, with the snipers i don't even need to be sneaking.

my suggestion is to take your time with your initial playthrough, do everything, enjoy the game, treat it like a skyrim or fallout.

Newgame+ 1-10 takes a different tone and without getting into spoilers, changes things.

EDIT: I think I took like 110 hours or so in my first playthrough and ended at level 60 doing most of the content. The the vast majority of the levels have been grinding mobs on planets and space combat in newgame+

there's a very vocal minority of people who say "rush the main story and go to newgame+" but imo that will ruin the experience since you only get to play the game for the first time once. I would absolutely progress the main story a bit, but I wouldn't nolife it.

Also you get dialogue choices related to it, many of which work to bypass skill checks like persuading someone.

This. When playing TotK I didn't use any guides and just took my time finding things out on my own

Once I finished 95% of the main story did i start using a checklist to clean up the stuff I missed

do they actually fight back though? I just remember shooting a few deer-things in my first hour and they only ran away. if not I'd expect they'll nerf the exp from them at some point.

it depends on the type of animal, some of them are like deer and will just run away, others will hunt in a pack, some solo hunt other fauna, ect... On the planet i'm on there are 4 types. A cloaked "wolf" type that hunts other animals solo, gigantic grubs that will swarm you in packs of 6-10 or so. And giant scorpions that will run around in pairs hunting the player. If you scan the animal it should tell you it's type

I'm about 50 hours in and level 24, I've pissed away a lot of time exploring systems and whatnot, went kind of OCD finding a planet to start my first outpost on. I don't see me dropping this for months.

I've spent so much time and effort on this game, I don't think I'll ever do ng+.

The new ship and stronger space magic isn't worth the sacrifice.

I will probably just cheat the ship and the abilities once I finish all the main quests and faction quests.

newgame+ is part of the story, once you hit newgame+ 10 something happens apparently. I havn't spoiled myself on it yet, but now that i'm lvl 100, I'm going to beeline for it and redo all the content, build bases, romance one of the characters, ect...

Just got to newgame+8 starting to feel a bit burnt out, luckily the cyberpunk patch is coming out tomorrow, so i'll take a few days replaying that
