Like just outright did not do what your physician advised because you didn't want to.

I never cut back on greasy foods despite what it does to me in my post-galbladder existence.

Yeah, my doctor wanted to put me on Cipro for an infection, but it literally increases the risk of tendon ruptures and I was in the middle of the academy at the time, which had me doing like 5 miles runs mixed with stuff like 30 burpees. So I just acquired a different antibiotic instead >_>

Nah, I always do what the experts say.

My job would be much more easier if everyone would listen to the expertise that got me this job, so as long as it doesn't sound like complete bullshit I trust the other experts on their expertise that got them into the job.

I've gotten 2nd opinions before, and my gut turned out to be right. Remember doctors are people too, not gods, and they can be wrong. Especially in modern times where there's McDoctors everywhere just looking to shove sponsored meds down your throat.

Well, on several occasions I've been told to lose weight. Sometimes I've listened, other times I didn't.

I remember my doctor friend was telling me how right before literal surgical procedures or even just talking to patients about their condition, all the residents would just google everything on their phones right outside the door before they walk in LOL

I got prescribed Cipro for a lung infection once. Stopped it shortly after because it had me pooping bright red.

Anyway to answer the question I was told to look into getting a colonoscopy this year since I am now 45 but I have made zero effort in getting to that.

My optometrist hasn't been very firm on my eye drops situation.

"NightRender, you really should be doing eye drops 3 times a day, but if you don't, it's fine too."

So I haven't been doing eye drops.

Yup and it saved my life. Went to my regular family doctor that Ive been going to since I was a baby and when I was 23, I had some growth on my neck the size of a small golf ball. He thought it was just inflammation or a build up of some mucus and said to just ignore it and it will go away in time.

Went to another doctor (who Ive never met before) for a second opinion and they were worried and ordered a biopsy. Found out it was Hodgkins Lymphoma and she said they were lucky they caught it in time cause otherwise it would have progressed even worse. Went through chemo and radiation therapy and have been cancer free for the past 18 years.

Lets just say Ive never been back to my original doctor since

I have outright given up on communicating with my gastroenterologist after years of everything they do being a waste of my time and money:

Doing expensive tests but never calling back with the results.

Billing almost every encounter incorrectly, then taking 9+ months to fix it. (What the hell organization bills insurance for thousands without even naming the procedure you did? Why would you ever think that claim would be accepted?)

Billing regularly taking 6-10 months to occur and coming in multiple, separate bills, leaving me constantly wondering how much more I'm going to be charged.

Bouncing me between providers with referrals and demanding I use a particular hospital's services despite that not even being where I originally sought care.

The provider I saw did not communicate after a test I did for almost a year, then sent me a letter saying she was no longer seeing patients for clinic right after I messaged the hospital asking for someone to explain my test results as was promised before the test. The response I got for my message was that I would have to make and pay for another appointment to have my test results explained, which I'm pretty sure is a form of fraud or somehow illegal, but don't have the energy to dispute.

Virtually no communication between providers and poor documentation, so I literally had a nurse gaslight me regarding when I had a procedure done; despite insisting 15+ times I had it done in 2022 and listing all sorts of reasons why it could not have been in 2021, she said over and over I hadn't had anything done in 2022 (because presumably either she's horrible at her job or the documentation of this procedure was never entered) and had me questioning if I was going insane.

At this point I've spent about $10000 to determine that I have reflux and should take a PPI, when I went into the office in the first place saying "I have reflux" and knew that I could take an OTC PPI for the symptoms.
