Not tired of the game or bored, just start feeling sleepy an hour or so in. Never happens the second time to sit down and play or any time after that. Just the first. Very weird. Should I tell my shaman?

I don't know about feeling sleepy, but I also have trouble playing a new game for more than an hour or so. Maybe it's just because of all the new information your brain needs to process.

Holy shit I thought I was alone in this.

Like even if you were really excited for the game you just get tired and sleepy for no reason.

My whole life I had this problem.

Can confirm this. Has always been somewhat of a thing but when I was younger it would take 2-4 hours. Now even a big hype game I only go for an hour or so before I quite and come back. Think it really is just brain processing time to new information.

That was me with Xenoblade 1.
I was watching those samey anime hometown cutscenes, walking around trying to remember which bridge went to what part of town.
Thinking "Aw no, what have I gotten myself into?"
The combat system woke me up though.

There has to be gameplay early on or I start to doubt the game.

This so much

I feel I didn't have it when I was younger, I remember being so excited playing GTA 4 the first time

With Elden Ring I remember not being able to come close to killing that first field boss when you first enter the open world and thinking wow this game is kinda dumb. But ended up putting 100 hours in

I just can't focus at all like I used to unless something really pulls me in, which is like maybe twice a year now. I used to be an achievement hound and beat a hundred games a year, tons of indies, now I struggle to finish 5. It's not even a time thing, my mind wanders, I get occupied with something else, regardless of my intent to sit and play for a while.

What broke the achievement collecting habit?
Did it just get repetitive?
