Thing is this these attempts at determining the psychology behind it are just guesses and probably don't universally apply. I have nearly 100 mods downloaded for Minecraft and I'm sure some of the changes are trivial and may not justify the effort of creating them, but it's just a part of customizing the game as close to my liking as possible.

The mod would not have got any attention if people didn't blow it up on reddit and twitter. Just like the white Wyll mod for Baldur's Gate 3.

I saw a reddit comment - so I don't know if this is true - say that this mod actually just removed the he/him/she/her options. So it made your character nonbinary and made everyone use they pronouns.

Which is a hilarious self-own if that's the case.
