Or other large rivers?
I just saw a tug pull up to a group of four barges that look like they could have been sitting there for years. One of them had 3 weed trees, one at least three years old. The tug then pushed the front end out into the river, and then back to their original position while a man dicked around on the barges. I am in a park in St. Louis county that has a trail that runs along the river. It also affords fine views of a casino, lol.

I knew a guy who worked for the MS River engineer department (forgot the official name), they do work on tributaries, ports, canals,etc...
I got to tour one of those big boats, it was nice, three levels, nice quarters, two kitchens, nice dining hall,etc...
