honestly games are a bit hard to go back to playing on it. not as bad as the gen before tho. for a long time i would have agreed tho.

SNES or PS2 imo. I loved both of those consoles. Although looking back, I've revisited more SNES games than PS2 games. Game Boy Advance deserves a mention too.

And as much as we memed on $599US, the PS3 was a really good value on paper at launch. It played PS1, PS2, and PS3 games, it was the cheapest Blu-Ray player on the market, it could play SACDs, and it could even function as a Linux PC.

It was also a complete fucking piece of garbage that broke all the time-- the original model of the PS2 had lawsuits because of all the failures. Every person I knew who had the original model had them break. Mine broke three fucking times before I finally gave up & bought the Slim instead of sending it back to Sony yet again.

Now, the slim model that eventually came out was great. And the library was great too. But the original design was every bit as terrible as the 360's RRoD.

Pretty close. I loved the feel of the controller too. Any of the first three generations of Nintendo consoles have to be in the running too.

Even if we pretend God of War never existed, it's still pretty amazing (I actually find GOW 1 and 2 arduous but not challenging, over rated and not particularly well aged at all).

either ps2 or switch. probably give the edge to ps2 because of backwards compatibility, that ps1/2 lineup is really phenomenal

Regardless of the console itself, it had the greatest library of games.

People can talk nonsense about aging all they want, but graphics didnt need to get better than MGS2. Thats where enormous development costs came from, and the industry has suffered for it.
