It's better now.

I may look into that tmw. Star Ocean 2 is an all time favorite. So is this better than the PSP version? I admit to being shallow as the PSP version played better but I vastly preferred how the original looked and felt so I did not like the PSP release as much.

Personally I enjoyed the hell out of it. I definitely like how they did towns, dungeons and the world map and the music is familiar but has a nice new twist on it.

Playing Eternights actually don't rush out and buy this one yet but it has its charms. If I wasn't I would have tried this demo earlier.

Downloading now.

45 minutes in. Up to level 4. The story is actually charming and the game play is really fun. Im playing as Rena. I wish this is the direction FF16 took.

Shit man I didn't expect them to flesh out the dialogue like this, I'm impressed after just the opening portion of the game

How big is the Switch demo on the eshop, on the eshop the full game is 11.1 GB which would take a few hours for me t download?

I'm playing on my PS5 where it's 3.3GB.

I never played the newest Star Ocean. I just was into the indies and I bought the Faithless game on the cheap, if Tales of Berseria didn't come out around that purchase and my tasting zone. I may have stuck with it more.

But that Faithless game was likely trash and lower budget than Eternights! 'Eyyyyyyy I didn't despise my time playing it after awhile I figured there was no payoff.

Divine Force isn't bad, it's definitely better than the previous two games.

The Second Story though has a place in many peoples hearts.

I hadn't played it in a long time, but the demo just brought back all the memories and made my hype for the full game even greater.

I actually like Star Ocean IV a lot (Last Hope). Probably more than III actually though IV does have some really dumb bullshit.

Ya I need to try that demo soon.

I'm definitely looking forward to release.

At a certain point you can't use it, I want it back.

Even if it required a side quest and it required MP.

I started with Rena too. If you go into the first boss battle with Claude at level 1 he will get stomped. Had to let Rena take care of him.

It has quite a few improvements from both ps1 and PSP. No more random battles to start.

There are a lot of improvements from the PS1/PSP version.

As mentioned above random battles are gone, they pop up randomly on the world map and you can choose to fight or not. Same with dungeons though you will encounter some enemies standing in the way chilling. You can also lure groups together up to 5 which starts a chain battle. Once you complete those you get boosts to exp and such.

Certain attacks can also break enemies leaving them open to attack, but you can be broken as well.

There's also a bonus gauge that gives various effects based on your formation, you have to unlock these however doing certain tasks.

Music can be switched from the remixed music to the original if you don't like the remixed music.

There are new challenge missions that you can do like use a skill X amount of times, fight X amount of enemies, etc.

There's other stuff as well.

One of my favorite games. The restrictions on the demo turned me off from playing it. So I figure I'll just wait for full launch.

I've played the original multiple times, so I know everything I want to test at the start, and the demo restrictions blocked that. I'm curious how much of my early game breaking shenanigans I can do in this new version. Should be fun.

I'm happy about the stagger mechanic, though. From what I've heard, anyway. My hope is it makes weaker characters from the original now on par with the broken ones. It that it stopped me from using who I wanted anyway. It'd just be nice if multi-hit attacks weren't the end all be all.

I forgot to mention this before but one of the best additions is how PAs are handled this time.

In the original you had to go into a town, leave, then go back and search for the characters too see if there was a new PA. Now all you do is press square in town and you can switch to PA mode, and press it again to return to normal mode. PAs also show up on the map so you can search for the characters easier.

In addition, Fast Travel has been added in and you can see what towns have PAs from the Fast Travel menu. Some will even have an hourglass icon to show they have a limited window.

If you don't like that addition you can turn the map off by pressing the Options button twice to feel more like the original.

Oh cool. That is better for private actions. I do still have the strategy guide for the Playstation which I got eventually then, but going to every single town after every event just to see if there was a new private action was annoying.

I would get this today, but there is a three hour time limit on it, wtf?! What if I want to make some food or have to use the bathroom. I got to save and quit the game to not waste my limited time?

Lol I know. I beat the original like 3 or 4 times.

So with that in mind I wanted to know if playing the demo is even worth it. Looks like it is.

If he's like me some of it probably includes going up the mountain as soon as you can and fighting there until you are around level 30 before doing anything else.

Involves that area, but is less for the levels and more for the FOL and focusing on IC skills. I dislike powerleveling in games at the start, so I usually get just enough FOL for early IC cheese, and to unlock Dexterity for starting character for Pickpocketing.

I was gonna say try to make Eternal Sphere ASAP.

I know a lot of people already gonna be doing that.

The best sword. I was cobtent getting perseverance to level 10 as fast as possible. That's the skill that reduces the cost of learning every other skill. Imagine not maxing that and wasting skill points. Infact I wouldn't spend skill points on anything unless they cost 1-3 as I found it satisfying just maxing that as soon as I learned it and then going ham on all the other stuff I was saving points for.

Pickpocket and dexterity as mentioned earlier was fun too.
