Racing games it's sometimes useful feedback for traction breaking

Otherwise it was mainly cool when games were simpler and the feature stood out more.

Competing every night, both ends, shoot inside/outside, fast break, transition, Monta Ellis have it all

the only game it's really been useful was forza for me, i can track which wheel is losing grip or is off the tarmac off the way the controller rumbles.

anything less arcadey than that I just prefer a wheel.

Yes, I care because I specifically want my controller to not rumble, and I immediately turn that feature off in every game I would play that it's present in.

Most of the time I don't notice it.

Until I put the controler down, and hear the BRRRRRRRR.

Well I could play without it but it's certainly a welcome addition to gaming experience as long as the devs use it correctly and not just 'controller goes brrrrrrr' all the time.

For example: Ico and Shadow of the Colosus. Ico used it during hand holding, adding to immersion. Iirc SotC used it to signal a full power stab so you could focus on watching the colosus and maintaining your grip during struggle instead. Please cmiiw.

I tend to turn it off. Most of the time it isn't noticeable to me by the 10% that it is I haaaaaate it, it's just too distracting for me.

I dont have a particular dislike for it but I also dont usually feel like it really adds a lot. I can already tell the big thing is rumbly by the sound.

^This

I turned off the haptic feedback on my phone too, but there are some apps that bypass the setting, which is very annoying.

Pretty useful in racers that vibrates when you're off the track, and other genres that only activate or let you set only when you're getting hit. If it rumbles anytime you do something I turn it off

Depends
Sometimes I only realize that I'm taking fire because my controller is rumbling slightly. If it's rumbling from me constantly shooting, I tend to block it out

I quite like the PS5's haptic stuff, but generally I don't notice it over much. If it turned itself off, I probably wouldn't realize it.

I'm sure I'd get used to it being gone after a while but I notice when it's not there, like whenever I've used a Dualshock 4 to play PS3 games.
