I have another package I'm expecting tomorrow; however, the last update was nearly 24 hours ago when it arrived at a facility in New York. It says "moving through network" and "it is currently in transit to the destination", even though the last scan was an arrival scan.

I'm guessing those two things I mentioned means it's heading to my regional USPS facility and should be there and scanned by tomorrow? Just making sure I'm understanding it right.

It usually doesn't take 24 hours between arrival and departure, so I'd assume just going off that, it's likely on it's way to the next location.

However, you can never be sure unless it say departed, which isn't always. After using uses a fair bit recently, I've learned that the best/easiest thing to do is just go off their estimated delivery date. Is was usually spot on (for me at least)

The USPS tracking is not very reliable. I've had statuses like that then suddenly the package showed up.
Also make sure you are there or have someone to watch like a hawk, at times they won't even try to deliver something and will mark it as nobody being home. They tried to pull that with my monitor when I was home the entire day waiting, had to go to the local office to get it myself.

Ugh they're so frustrating. USPS packages give me too much anxiety

Their system is terrible. My son had a package that arrived basically on time, but the system never updated after the previous day's information. It never showed as delivered or anything. I was tracking it because he's in a new dorm room and had never received anything, mail or package, yet this year. So I wanted to know its status, but the updates were pretty useless.

it's hit and miss.

lately they been doing well around here in getting stuff on time (despite not having either late tracking information or none at all).
several years ago they lost a ps5 controller i ordered but never showed up (amazon sent another and it arrived) but the 1st package never seen an appearance.

I dealt with this a couple months ago. I sent my wife a box and it said it was delivered on the expected day, but she hadn't gotten it. After going to her post office with little help it got delivered a week later.

Amazingly, it actually did arrive at my local processing center. So unless something goes awry like it did with my last package, I'll have it today.
