I skipped both of these games on the PS4. Is it a case where both are great, or is it like I won't get much out of playing one of these after the other?

I liked both very much. Miles is shorter, but equally good. I can highly recommend both.

They're both great. Marvel's Spider-Man is one of the best super hero games I've ever played and Miles Morales was a good continuation of it, with some fun new combat additions

I love both and I think both have pros and cons.

Spider Man 1 is the better overall game. It's longer and has more stuff to do.

Miles Morales is more like a DLC with a better gameplay and combat.

Miles is better just play that one

yea, they're about equal, for me, both in story and overall experience.

with Miles Morales, due to its length, it cuts off a lot of the fat that was in the original game, and some of the mechanics are also better.

both really good games that are worth playing, especially since Miles will play a big role in Spider-Man 2.

I never played Miles Morales but got platinum on the 1st game. I enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the side activities and traversing the city. I found the fighting quite fun. I found the boss fights a bit of a letdown but the normal group fighting was an absolute blast. Taking over hideouts to me was the highlight of the game.

I found the use of gadgets not as fun as Id hoped. Honestly ended up not using them much. The city was gorgeous and getting around was quite fun. Overall it was a good game but it wasnt enough to make me interested in playing Miles Morales or the game coming this year.

Ignoring personal preferences for which superhero you like more or which setting/lore you enjoy while I found Spider-Man entertaining I find it firmly behind the Arkham Batman games. I LOVE those games and play every one. Spider-Man while being fun wasnt enough to make me interested in future entries. Thats my take.

both are worth playing. i really enjoyed the main story in both games.

Get both, play in order

The first one has a better story, but its stretched much thinner.

The gameplay in Miles is s lot better and it has much tighter pacing.

Pick what quality you prefer.

On a personal level I will never play the first game again, but I could be convinced to play Morales.

I dont understand the release of these games. Is Miles a DLC to Spiderman, or a separate game entirely? I know Spiderman was remade on PS5 with a different character model for Peter.

If I want to play these games now, whats the best/cheapest way to do so? PS4 or PS5?

It really is a potato pooptattas question if its a DLC. Its stand alone regardless.

Theres a PS5 physical version of miles morales that includes the first game as a download code. If you can find that cheaply thats probably the best way to go about it.

Miles Morales is a sequel that people feel should have been a dlc. But it's a separate game with a roughly 8 hour story.

Best way to experience them would be on PC with an SSD or PS5. I played them originally on PS4 and that console can't keep up with the movement speed. There would be times when I was swinging around the city and the game would stop to load. That's not an issue with the SSD of PC or PS5

They're both great, IMO.
