Dont get me wrong im not saying its a 10/10 masterpiece but its definitely the best main studio game they've released.

The whole "it takes 15 hours to get going" thing the reviewers were mentioning isnt true or that the game gets better after the main quest. I dont think the main quest will blow you away or if you just came off of BG3 like me it's definitely not on that level. However, the main quest is a lot better than FO3 and Skyrim and the faction quests are SOOOOO much better. The Crimson Fleet in particular have been my favorite so far.

The companions are typical Bethesda companions so nothing really special there. I think they still are far behind games like Mass Effect and Divinity in terms of writing for the companions.

Outpost building is just settlement building from Fallout 4 so i wasnt a fan of it in either games. I built one to stick all my shitty crew members there.

The game really shines in its exploration like other Bethesda games. However, every city is distinct and big. I dont want you to think they are the size of Night City or anything but i feel like they all have a good size for a typical Beth's game. The planets arent fully explorable like no mans sky but i feel like you can get enough out of each of them.

I also really like the combat. Its a weird mix of Skyrim and Fallout that somewhat works. It's very similar to Mass Effect in that sense. I feel like Fallout 4's shooting was great and i'm glad it carried over to Starfield.

Here's a quick run down of my likes and dislikes.

Likes - Combat, Setting, Ships, Factions, and there's so little fetch quests now, variety in weapons, and i think the armor looks sleek.

Dislikes - Companions, some copy and paste dungeons, Enemy A.I., crafting, and settlement building.

I don't think Starfield really shines above the other Beth's games in any certain section but i think it does everything better than the rest. It is still a Bethesda game so if you didnt like the others you wont like this.

I also didnt count New Vegas since it was an obsidian game and not a Bethesda main studio game.

I like it more than Fallout 3, 4, and Skyrim. Not sure if I like it more than Oblivion. And Morrowind is still my favorite after playing it again two years ago.

it's just boring

fallout 4 came out like 9 years ago and they haven't innovated or improved anything since then

Yet it somehow it won't get the same amount of 9's and 10's of their glitchy ass, ugly looking opus of Fallout 3.

Quests already blow Skyrim out of the water at the very least for me already. Felt like every Skyrim quest lead to you to dungeons to fight Draugr.
