I came across a discussion about this on another site and someone said that all they see are individuals who say they wouldnt date a sex worker even if they support the legitimizing/legalization of the industry.

Interested to see where this board falls on that end. As for myself, I'm looking for exclusivity in my relationships, so no.

And for clarification, I'm talking about someone who actively works in the industry and intends to continue doing so while you date them.

I think it would depend on the context.

Are they on Only Fans creating content solo? Probably.

Actively in more mainstream pornography? I don't think so.

Working in brothels? No.

What I personally need from a relationship is pretty conventional. I would never judge anyone for wanting different things in a relationship, open relationships, not having any sort of problem with who their partner is engaged with sexually, all that. Cool, whatever you are comfortable with. I just know that I require monogamy, or perhaps involving another person that we are both agreeing to involve them in together as a couple.

I could date a former sex worker. That isnta problem. But not someone still working.

I guess it depends what qualifies as a sex worker. Are we counting if they just take they're clothes off money or do they have to have sex for money? I would be a lot more open to the former.

I would, provided there was some way I could be sure they're taking proper measures to avoid STDs. I am massively insecure though and get jealous easily, but I will never let that get in the way of my relationship principles.

Sex workers don't have 'lovers', they have clients and they do a job of work.

They aren't super sex athletes with abilities and demands beyond the capabilities of a mere amateur. They haven't been 'spoiled' for regular sex by all the amazing sex they have all day at work.

They're just regular women.

It's weird but I think I'd be less okay if she was just like...making money teasing people that maybe someday she'd take off her clothes if that makes sense.
