I know its a tough transition, but I really wish people would temporarily just stop eating fast food in protest. We dont need it. I survive without it, so anyone else can. The problem is that the general public actually could fix this price gouging issue, but they wont because theyre too lazy to stop feeding an abusive corporation who steals wages and short staffs workers until they drop. But hey, I guess its easier than cooking, so

Im sure people know they could live without fast food. But people pay for the continence for many reasons. Easier and faster, for one. And can help with parties and on the road, or on limited time

Maybe my local Subway is an exception, but I never really understood the hate for it. I had it recently for the first time in years and thought it was pretty good and no different from how I remembered it.

It's pricey, but everything is these days. I had no issues with the quality of the food though.

Inflation is gonna be one of the biggest factors in the 2024 presidential election.

Biden is not totally to blame, but it happened on his watch thus the old man is gonna be kicked to the curb as a one term president without a shadow of a doubt.

I do think Biden has to make it clear it would be worst if Trump was around for this one way or another because, Inflation and that kind of stuff is what sinks pepole, that kind of thing helped Regen crush Carter.

I mean inflation was how the Nazi's took over Germany mostly...it was a lot more extreme there but...that's still a factor.

They eliminated the meatball sub. Now they have the meatball sub, but with 4 slices of pepperoni on it. Price? $15.99.

Subway is a stupid fucking choice for a sandwich with its $13-$16 footlong shitty subs.
Money is better spent at literally any of its competitors.
I disagree. My go to for 30 years has been the bmt, with lettuce, tomato, Pickles, olives. Was $8 now 11. I've the same sandwich at other places and I'll be honest they are not good.

What happened to $5 footlongs?

Inflation.

They tried to switch to $6 footlongs, but it wasn't as catchy and they just gave up entirely for some years.

When they brought back $5 footlongs in 2018 restaurant managers reported gaining barely any profit off of selling them, and were given the option to exclude the option from their local menus. Basically every restaurant chose to drop them and sell you $10-13 footlongs instead.

Inflation wasn't the only reason. When minimum wage increased it made no sense to charge $5 for something when you are paying $15 to make it.

Still a better deal than a lot of sub places. At least here you get to watch them make it, and have full control over what they put on it and heat it up or not.

Beats the places that always make subs the same way.
Ooo wow, I get to watch them make me a mediocre sub.

Yeah, their prices are ridiculous now at Subway. I stopped going there due to it, which is a shame, because they used to be the best-priced place for what you were getting. I still remember back in 2015 or so how I was getting $6 (after tax) footlongs of Black Forest Ham.

RasterGraphic posted...
Last time I went to Subway, it was over 20 bucks and the sub was anemic as hell.

Jersey Mike's 4 lyfe.

Went to Jersey Mike's for the first time recently when they were having a special charity day where 100% of proceeds went to charity. It felt overpriced for what I got, however it was for a good cause, so I wasn't mad, just learned a lesson.

That may be, however their breakfast has gone up so horribly in price it's not longer worth it. They used to be the only fast food place I enjoyed getting breakfast from, now I only go to McDonald's if I'm craving the McGriddle, however I'm not jazzed about it due to their pricing and those bullshit oval hashbrowns.

8-9$ an hour before 5$ footlong ended
13-14$ an hour. all the prices jacked up to 12-13$ for a sub. 3$ for a small taco bell burrito.

better off making own with own ingredients (can even buy hot dog bread from costco to make a sub).

Spend 2 bucks more on a giant sub from Jersey Mike's.

We have 2 subways where I live, and they both suck and are not good. Neither of them accept online deals, and half their pink meat has gray parts on it.

Haven't ate there in about 5 or so years just not worth it.
