For a few days the game will appear to be alive again.
It won't be perfect, but it will probably be fun. It will also probably be colder by then so that's nice too.

There will be contracts and cosmetics.
And if we're lucky, the bugs in the new maps will be as funny as last year's.

I try not to watch SFMs ever, so if it does get referenced, I probably won't know.

I'm most looking forward to partying up and running through all the contracts together. Some levels have accumulated lore because of people we've met in past years or other things that have happened. More lore each year is always the best part.

This one's a feature length horror movie with visual effects that really surpass the usual SFM fare. I don't watch SFMs either but I bit the bullet on it and recommend it just for the experience and achievement

Oh well that doesn't sound exciting. Horror and TF2 Halloween do not mesh. Horror and regular Halloween, sure.
TF2 Halloween is totally different though, it's all about amped up in-jokes and camaraderie in the face of whatever the matchmaking system throws at you.

Last year there were 33 cosmetics up for grabs.
This year there will be... Probably more than 33!
Minutes of rummaging through items! Hours of spamming NEED A DISPENSER HERE!

Started a new account with none of the cosmetics, haven't tried for them in years (and was on a toaster PC back then), kinda hyped to replay tbh. >_>

Your calendar would try to deceive you anyway.
It would tell you it was at the end of the month.
But TF2 Halloween starts about 5 days into October.

SFM: It's so boring. Most of them have the team acting in character. A whole bunch of them have the formulaic (Anything goes here) Fortress 2 or Team (Anything goes here) 2 names. More of them feel like Saxxy bait that won't risk doing anything to confuse an audience. I feel like SFM has a lot more X thing but reanimated in SFM kinds of videos than Gmod. I don't like those.

Gmod: Gmod's good. It used to be really great, back when it was dumb fun and creativity. I don't watch much of it any more. I still have a few favorites I check in on. A lot of it feels like it's trying to be SFM nowadays. The Gmod video I consider my favorite only released a few years ago so I do think it can still be good every now and then.
