Some of them do. Not a lot, but I've seen videos where drivers refused to give customers their food unless they gave a tip, or tipped more.
No, you see, thats not begging thats simply holding peoples purchases hostage.

Those poor delivery drivers are such victims of TIPPING CULTURE they have to beg for tips! But also, fuck them for begging for tips!

Incoherent.

Ummm without customers, companies dont have many to pay employees/expenses. Yes, companies are going to charge customers for services and products offered. Thats how business works.

Basic costs for food (product, labor, etc) is whats covered by the price of the food. The additional service (delivery) adds a cost to the overall product. If a store does not offer delivery, they dont need to pay for things like insurance, drivers wages, mileage, or anything like that. If a store does offer these things, they have to pay for that, so why not pass that cost onto the customer who is using said service, and if youre not using said service (i.e. carry out), the customer doesnt have to pay for it?

Its been a good while since I worked at a pizza shop, but our delivery fees covered the mileage that we paid drivers plus the extra things we paid for at the store. At that time, we actually lost money on deliveries because our fee was lower than others in the area, but we also produced more pizza than anyone else in the area, so we made enough to cover the loss.

Overall though, the idea that the customer doesnt pay for literally everything a company does is a bit misguided.

Free delivery was the norm for a long time.

Any support you show for tipping is support you show for underpayment. You dont get to disagree with this.

I guess it depends on the company. Favor specifically charges you a $2 mandatory fee to ensure you don't stiff the driver on any tip or some ridiculously low tip, which after seeing my friend show me his GrubHub tips where some times people would give 0.37c, yeah, I definitely agree with that. As someone who has delivered for Favor, I can 100% guarantee you get at least that $2, though I never had anybody just not tip, however they still factor that $2 into your tip.

But then there's probably companies just using that as an excuse to pay themselves extra at the expense of their drivers.

Your support of underpayment is evident. Youve done nothing to prove otherwise

I didn't have one of those crazy cases, but my driver hinted at me giving them an extra tip because the restaurant messed up.
I was about to cancel the order but they didn't make a real fuss of it.

If people want to take issue with that, say I'm too lazy to go get it myself, yeah sure how about me and the rest of the consumer base stop using these services so the drivers have no job altogether?
