I have gotten into long winded heated debates that spanned pages without getting hit for "provoking users to react negatively." So when I hear people make the claim it was over "just their opinions" I wonder if they aren't looking at their moderations objectively.

Maybe you could stand to realize that "I sincerely believe/It's just my opinion" does not excuse every belief/opinion.

My grandfather sincerely believes that we should kill every black person before they wipe out all the white people. Him believing it does not make it any less racist and therefore a message that should be moderated.

Opinions like that would be deleted for "offensiveness" or "abusive behavior". That is obvious hate speech.

When someone refuses to even mention the subject they are talking about, I have no reason to believe they are being genuine and not trolling. And they'll try to ignore the actual context and talk about anything and everything else simply because if the context is made and the subject is defined, the fair; next, comes out and they can't keep dancing around. It's a good way to claim that you're being unfairly targeted.

I spread literally no hateful beliefs in my topic about "both sides" being a valid statement when both sides are actually bad.
