And .38 Special, since the economy is still pretty shit and having the option to shoot a little cheaper is nice. Never had a lever action before, so it's been fun learning all the nuances. For example, loading it.

You get the side loading option like most lever guns do, though this is a relatively recent development in the Henry. But you also get the removable tube mag, which for the longest time I never thought was actually just a tube in another tube.

I always thought it was a curved plate of some sort, and the actual magazine rest inside. Never had, or even held a lever gun before, so it never hit me that the actual mechanism was far simpler than I assumed. Far as mods go, I probably won't, besides maybe getting a larger lever loop to better accommodate my ape hands, and possibly a scope. Dunno yet.

~Both of my Grandfathers had guns, one for hunting, and on my mother's side it was more for collecting as he had had a stroke by the time I was born. They both instilled the seriousness of guns in me at a young age. To the point that my Moms Dad called my brothers and eye out for play shooting with play guns. He really ingrained it into me that you never point a gun at someone...even if it's not real, out of respect for the firearm.

A 4x scope would be about perfect. Youre not going to be doing much of anything past 100 yards with a 357. So 4x is more than enough.
