Id only do it if being homeless was the alternative. Other than that, fucking never again. Even without the karen customers it is such an insane sweatshop environment.

Retail can be very stall, but it's a paycheck if you need one.
Fast food, I've never done that, and would avoid it.

But I don't mind working around food which I do now.
Service industry people are a different breed.

This - when I worked at Best Buy there werent slow days because if it was slow the manager would just pull me aside to yell about how I should be trying to lure people in from other departments and upsell harder

Fuck retail. Office life for me.

If I had to, yes. I've had first hand experience with being homeless and, while yes retail sucks, it doesn't suck enough to choose not having a roof over my head to avoid it.

Use your intuition, it's a typo for Stale.

And yes, service industry people in my experience have a different sense of drive.
They kind of thrive on the adrenalin until their shift is over. And know they need each other.

I can imagine it fine. I just wouldn't do it.

Between corporate nonsense rules and greed it's just a miserable experience not worth the money.

Anyone who has worked fast food (and retail too, probably) is probably familiar with how any given chain and location is designed for so many staff members to work to operate smoothly, yet there never are that many for one reason or another. So everyone ends up doing the work of 2 or even 3 people for the pay of 1. That's one example.

Getting written up for being a literal minute or two late, even though the hiring process said you were fine to clock in 7 minutes early or late, and you explained your babysitting situation at hire.. getting written up for missing when a baby has the audacity to be born on a day other than the due date you requested off.

Getting "written up" in general. Shit like that.

I have stress dreama about it

It wasnt actually that bad where i worked - inflexible and sales goals were annoying, but i didnt mind it

I think it would just be the sense of defeat to backslide so far after working very hard to get a good office job
