does apple do this with their updates?

Depends on the phone. I've kept flagship phones for like 5-6 years pretty easily without slowdown. Battery issues or having legitimate upgrades available at that point are what makes me get s new one.

I'm still using a Galaxy S5. It can't play modern games all that well, but I've got staples I enjoy on it already regardless and most of the "good" mobile games are gacha trash anyway. Had to replace the battery a few times, but since it's an older phone I could still do that. ... Copied to Clipboard!
