Rittenhouse killing someone is "self-defense" but someone trying to disarm him after witnessing him kill someone is an "attack."

If you swing a skateboard at somebody, yes, it's an attack. Rittenhouse was acting in self defense, and in the course of his self defense, he was attacked by more people. It doesn't really matter what those people "thought" was happening--in reality, they were attacking someone who had only been defending himself, which necessitated that he defended himself further. He didn't shoot anybody for no reason. He specifically only shot the one guy after the guy aimed his gun at Rittenhouse.

He went there looking for a fight. There is documented evidence to show that. I'm not saying he went looking to kill someone, but he was definitely there for the wrong reasons. He would not have had to defend himself if he hadn't injected himself into the situation.

Ignoring the specific case, I do think that the courts ruling that a death was a valid case of self defense should preclude wrongful death suits being made against the defender. The courts have already determined the death to not be wrongful.
