I thought about this more and I might ask my boss if we can get this. we already have one camera but another would be nice. I have too much shit to do to babysit my employees all day to make sure they're actually working.

this is just cost analysis where you save money by not having to pay a person to do the analysis.

if you're got money lying around it's time to invest in business or tech oriented AI

At my last job my boss would always watch the cameras, and of course only find fault.
He had no idea what were actually going through.

Long story short, that is not management, that is Surveillance.

Don't work in a place like that.

Micromanaging workers like this feels very much like slave labor... Being afraid that every single action you take is closely monitored, having to walk on eggshells to make sure management doesn't find any reason to fire you or write you up for the smallest thing or if you're "underperforming" just sounds completely awful.

And no, I consider myself a hard worker. This still sounds like a nightmare. If management decides they want to get rid of someone they WILL abuse something like this. They already do it manually, this just makes it 100% easier for them.

You're perspective is that I believe inflation was caused my fiscal policy? I never mentioned fiscal policy (which was inflationary), I mentioned monetary policy. I support the federal reserve. I think they've made amazing decisions.

The former owner of my last place that I mentioned used to watch people from home, and call up when she saw something she didn't like. I didn't work there then, but I find that so fucked up. She even said, They are my little Cartoons, and people thought that was okay. This is Retail, not a bank or Casino or something like that.

but really my job is too small scale for it. but anywhere with tons of employees all doing the same job is going to use this technology because it will save money

Never micromanage your workers unless you have a legitimate reason they're underperforming and there are better ways to address it if the problem to ever arise. No one benefits from this, not even the business owners in the long run.
