I have a 2TB seagate portable drive that's about 8 years old, it's having problems with erasing new files lately and i'm getting nervous.

If you just want extra storage for shit like videos that's not really what I'd consider a backup system but if that's what you meant I'd recommend using a NAS with an sftp server so you can upload videos as soon as you make them. There's 2 kinds of NAS.
