I don't consume nearly enough milk to begin to justify a gallon at a time so I buy Fairlife. Also helps that it is lactose free

I don't think I have ever noticed "normal" milk being sold in anything else than the 1l standard carton.

Flavored stuff sure, but not the normal milk.

And there I buy the true brand stuff, not the store brand

I rarely buy milk so I'll withhold my answer. I don't drink it and the only time I'll buy it is if I'm expressly asked to pick some up. Usually the wife buys it since she uses it the most with her tea.
