Scammer

Him: I've had an account with you guys for a couple months now, and I never got a modem, so I was wondering if you could send one out.
Me: Okay, let me see what I can do, just a moment.

So I brought up the account, and there were notes from December that said they had a modem and were able to get online with it then. I didn't tell him this, though. I just let him run with the story.

I then checked the site we use to ship out replacement modems, and it didn't have any info in there for me to ship out another modem.

Me: Hmm... It isn't letting me send you another one. Let me call customer service for you so we can get another one sent out.
Him: Ok

So I called customer service, and they told me that the actual account owner is in jail, and someone is just living in his home and posing as the account owner. An authorized

person is already working with the financial services department to get the account turned off. They said the guy would have to supply two forms of correct ID to get another modem sent out. So I hung up with customer service...

Me: Okay, sir, I just spoke with customer service, and they said there is an issue with the account, and you will have to supply us with two forms of ID to get another modem

sent out.
Him: Uhh... ... ... I just need another modem, though...
Me: Right, but there is an issue with the account, so you need to supply customer service with two forms of ID to get another modem.
Him: Uhh... I don't have two forms of ID.
Me: Well, that's what you'll need to get another modem.
Him: ... ... ... ok, I'll just have to call back.

Her: My wireless isn't working any more
Me: Well, the system says the account is suspended... Let me call customer service so we can get that straightened out
Her: ok

As I was waiting for customer service to pick up, I noticed that her account was suspended way back in August, which typically means they went to another ISP. Customer service

confirmed this.

Me: Ok, I spoke to customer service, and they're showing that you don't have any services with us any more.
Her: Then why are we still getting billed for the internet? I have a bill right here that says they're going to deduct $73 on 3/12!
Me: ... hmm... Does it say what year that bill is from?
Her: uhhh... 2009, you're right. But I have another bill here from February 2010, so that's current, and it says we're getting billed!
Me: ummm... It's 2011 now, though... soooooo....
Her: Oh cra*hangs up*

Me: Okay, we should be able to get you back online. Just click on your start button
Her: Okay
Me: Then click on run
Her: Okay
Me: And then ty-
Her: ARE WE GOING TO DO IPCONFIG!?
Me: Yes...
Her: I ALREADY DID THAT!
Me: Okay, cool! Uhh... What IP address does the computer have?
Her: I dont know. How do I check that?
Me: Thats what were doing.
Her: Oh...

She didnt say anything else but okay for the rest of the call.
