Japans ageing population is already affecting nearly every aspect of society. More than half of all municipalities are designated as depopulated districts, schools are closing and more than 1.2 million small businesses have owners aged about 70 with no successor.

Hopefully Japan figures it out, pretty much every country is on the same path

I mean, the dude forced his first wife to talk to an assistant for parenting stuff instead of doing it himself, and he completely sidestepped supporting her when one of their kids died from sids. Then there's the whole thing with his trans kid and he's on record saying Grimes handles everything about their kid herself. No clue what's going on with the twins he had with that executive or whatever she was.
He seems to only march his kids out for publicity reasons, doesn't sound like a doting father to me.

Every time I hear a population argument I think about how the human population is bigger than most animal species. There are more humans than cats and dogs combined, the only species that there are more of are species bred for human consumption like chickens, and insects.

While technically the planet can support plenty more humans, and we can technically fit the whole of humanity in an area the size of Texas, thinking about it with these comparisons to other animals in mind makes the sheer size of human population seem... wrong.

But if chuckleheads like Musk were ACTUALLY concerned, they'd be pushing for things to actually make it easier for people to have kids. A lot of people are too poor to afford it, and people having more money and more benefits at their jobs would provide more of the windfall that you need to start a family (and make sure that they're properly cared for, at least). Corporate greed strangles the life of the average person and the consequences are numerous; in more ways than one, greed will be the downfall of the world as a whole.

people can barley afford rent with a room mate or two, and then whatever is left is for
groceries and transportation to work.

people literally count pennies a day or two before pay day.

on top of that the cost of day care is like a mortgage, college is prohibitively expensive and medical costs destroy lives.

why the fuck would anyone have a baby under these conditions!? If musk and the rest of the real life lex Luthors want us to breed then they should do something to revert the conditions they helped create
