My theory is that everyone who actually gets those jobs either had the previous experience or lies on their resume. If you are brand new to the field and tell the truth 100% on your resume you won't get the job. I know this because my wife wasn't entirely honest for her IT job and now she makes double what I make. "Fake it 'till you make it" she told me.

Because employers think they can ask for 10+ years of experience, a PhD and knowledge of their exact platforms and procedures and call it entry level to get away with paying poverty wages.

eg for hire: entry level sub-junior tech developer position, with 10 years experience with Java and CSS, mongo DB and react. Must have bachelors in a STEM field and a PhD in a computing field. Pay: 20$ per hour

yeah i kinda agree with this. don't a lot of people say, they all want experience , but how are you supposed to get experience if no one will hire you? and, a lot of employers are deceptive as well. What did your wife like about on her resume, what if they found out she lied?

Sounds like you should be doing a bit of studying prior to the interview.

If you're not getting promoted, it's not because you're not good at your job. It's because you're good at a ONLY your job.

IYO: is fundraising experience for programme design? i'm sure someone could make it make sense, but i wouldn't bother trying to make that connection

Eh.. she had the work experience but the job wanted a Bachelor's and she had two Associates degrees in unrelated fields. She said she had a bachelor's and somehow HR didn't flag it even though they supposedly validated her credentials through an online service.

Yep, diplomacy is like dating Filipina girls from Daly City. Youre getting nowhere without connections.
