Cautiously optimistic.

Trying to keep my expectations in check. Frasier is a top 3 comedy show for me, and it was like such a lightning-in-a-bottle thing, theres no way this continuation can truly live up to it.

That doesnt mean thisll be bad, itll just be tough to look at it fairly, I think. It would be one thing like if I just discovered Frasier within the past year, but Ive been a fan of Frasier for like fifteen now (I was a late-comer to it lol).

What's his job, if he has one?
Is it still a single camera sitcom or modern style?
Returning characters?
Writers?

They did have the prequel movie and they talked of doing a sequel

They can't just let good things rest... this is gonna be a disaster.

Well of course its going to be a DiSaStEr if you go in with that kind of mindset.

Just saw this on the Today show website:

"The new series follows Dr. Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill," the press release said. "Frasier has re-entered the building!"

So that explains why Niles won't be there (unless they decide to later do an episode where he visits or something.) Also increases the likelihood that other Cheers characters besides Lilith might make an appearance, though if that happened, I'd expect them to just show up for a little guest episode like Diane did on the original Frasier. I doubt they're wanting to make this a Cheers continuation as well as a Frasier continuation.

Who knows, though? When they start to wrap things up, they might pull a Picard Season 3 and make it a big ol' Cheers reunion season.

Sam also showed up in the early seasons of Fraiser and near the end of the shows run they had an entire Cheers reunion episode as well
