They lied about the content of the game and it paid off. Selling content as a 'redemption' continues to pay off. It's crappy but at least the game itself isn't complete garbage so I guess that's okay somehow.

As I said before, the new and improved game changes are free for everyone even if you don't buy this pack.

Which is how CDPR has always done it. Of course people are going to feel incentivized to buy the new content to check out the improvements. It's still a business tactic that will pay off for them.

Developers releasing gameplay improvements for free isn't exactly rare these days anyway. That should be the bare minimum considering how the game released.

Also it's not like the last gen owners who bought the game get any of this unless they buy the next generation of console that they own.

Sure but this isn't like they're holding the game fixes hostage.

Gamers are squarely to blame here for preordering. Don't preorder and you won't get burned on a bad game. If the game sucks and improves later you can buy it when it's improved and when you know what you're getting and not just promises of what you're getting.

Hopefully people learn that CDPR games shouldn't be considered a safe buy at launch then but somehow I think people are going to be pointing at this stuff to show "but look at how hard they tried so I trust them again"

Even though if it was any other developer doing this I doubt the narrative would be the same.

Is it not a bit horseshit at how lucrative Cyberpunk was, is and continues to be for CDPR? At no point has this game not made money for the company. It's a massive success. That's why these improvements and DLC exist. Not because they're generous or care about fixing the game. They're certainly not caring about their last gen customers.

No. And even if I did it doesn't matter because no one was scammed. Anyone who wanted a refund got one. Even on console digital stores where they usually don't do refunds they did it anyway.

On Steam it was automated. You just pushed the refund button.

Youre right, but bear in mind that back then barely anyone had the next gen consoles, so if it only released for next gen consoles it would have just been impossible for it to sell worth a damn.

All the more reason they don't deserve this 'redemption' narrative. They could have delayed the game and cancelled the PS4/Xbox One versions.

But we know why they didn't. Money and screwing over consumers.

Meh, it's all combat related. Nice that they are addressing the boring tree's. None of it matters though if there's no substance. Intertwined, subplots with meaningful choices that ultimately affect the main stories paths is what we wanted originally.

And that's not what were going to get with this. Game is fun, played pretty of it. Fantastic aesthetic at times, but the writing, with the main, and side quests left SO much to be desired.

I'm entirely on the fence with this. I'll most likely skip it until next year, when I have time to digest people's feelings on the matter. Plenty of games to keep on playing.

To be fair, Square lied about how FF 13's combat was going to look to, in fact half the games these days don't seem to match there first trailers. Not saying in excuses Cyberpunk but, few games match that first trailer these days.

Few games have ever matched there first trailers, i find it interesting that people get so annoyed now, what caused the change? Aliens Colonial Marines?

This looks great, but it's hard to be excited with Bg3, Armored core 6, And Starfield coming out.

I hope this is as big of a change as it sounded like before.

I remember when CP2077 was marketed as an open world RPG. It was later stealth revised into action adventure and it took keen eyed people to notice the change in the description.

Maybe it's because I played on PS4 Pro, but I never had any major issues with Cyberpunk even before all of the patches. Absolute worst bug I experienced was one of the Delamain quests not working.

It's honestly one of my favorite games to come out in recent years. I LOVE the atmosphere, story and just aesthetic of Night City. And the gameplay was a lot of fun too, even though you can become insanely overpowered (they're implementing a cyberpsychosis system into the game so that might be a good way to balance things out)

Also, when we talk about consumers "getting screwed", let's not forget that a bunch of those same consumers were literally harassing CDPR to release the game. Remember, it had already been delayed a couple of times before it launched.

I still haven't played it and I bought it day 1 on the PS5. Maybe it's about time. Although I'm doing a new PC in January so maybe I'll wait and buy it on PC when it's on sale.

Yeah, its a bit more than that chief.

Basically fetishizing trans people by having prominent ads in the game depicting a very openly non-binary person. I'm not trans myself, so I'll speak no further on it. There are a host of reasons why one will or won't play this. I don't care. I played it on PC, and observed none of the glaring issues that other people had by playing on old gen hardware. They are right to be pissed off by the broken state it released on for the PS4. CDPR bit off a lot more than they could chew by trying to make it work on old gen and current gen hardware. Oh well.

It was great on PC at launch. Not amazing, but better than most open world games simply because the quests and story are more interesting. Should be excellent now.
