I watch and play a lot of older stuff, so I still wish for 480p sometimes.
It is annoying when things look like crap that shouldn't, like a lot of American sports TV.

It depends on the content.

Some older movies don't look very good in 4K because it amplifies the film grain. When I first watched Star Wars in 4K I was like what's all this sparkly shit on the screen

I spent most of last year only getting 720 on a rare good day. 480 just sucks, 720 is okay.

I voted 720p, but as long as I can clearly see/hear the content and it's not all low quality or blurry, I'm good.

Video games at 1080p minimum, 4K hopefully, videos at 1080p regardless of movie or whatever is good enough

I usually only watch videos in the default player, which is usually less than 1/4 my screen, so 480p is more than good enough.

Only time I need better is if I'm watching full-screen or 30fps is actively making the viewing experience worse (specific games)

I find 720p is typically "good enough" though I can see a difference between it and 1080p.

I watch it. There's plenty of stuff that's never been in HD and I still watch it because there's no other option. Hell, one of the first things I watched on my brand-new 4K OLED television last year was a VHS cassette of Robot Wars US 1996. It was honestly surprisingly watchable.

When it comes to animation I can watch all my one piece funimation dvds just fine (I am assuming all the episodes are like downscaled to 480p for dvd storage). One piece did not start being animated in HD for a long-ass time....like until episode 570 something for japan, so blu-rays wasn't a thing for these sets until somewhat recently.

I am fine with watching some of my old dvd movies on my monitor, but on my 65 inch TV they do be looking a bit rough these days.

720 is good, 1080 is ideal. 4k is good for sports, movies and shows though it just makes everything look weird.

I mostly watch videos on my phone or tablet, and 720p is more than enough for this.

If it's something "bigger" than just bs random youtube vids, I use my PC and there it's usually 1080p.

But if for some reason the default setting goes to 720, chances are decent that I won't notice it and keep it at that.

I stream YT and twitch at 360 or 480p usually, maybe I bump it up if I care to see stuff more in detail, usually if I'm reading smaller text on it. That depends but it'd be either 720 or 1080, depending on what I need.
For downloaded media I pick 720p.

My eyes can be that way. I find dark scenes or scenes with mainly one color (like a room with a red light) seem to benefit more and produce less artifacts while bringing out detail. Otherwise, 1080p could be the forever resolution for me

1080p looks awful the bigger the screen unless you're far enough away.

1080p isn't acceptable for any monitor above 24"

For a TV you sit across the room from, probably not *that* big of a deal unless it's huge
