Nintendo has recently implemented restrictions on the eShop to prevent users from purchasing digital games at a lower price from countries like Argentina and Turkey. The company has introduced measures to ensure that payment methods and credit cards used for purchases are issued within the specific countries.

Users attempting to make purchases from the Argentinian eShop without a bank card or gift card registered for that country will encounter error code 2813-2470. This code indicates that the payment method or credit card needs to be issued in Argentina.

Nintendo explained that the availability of payment methods for making purchases in the eShop is restricted to those issued within the respective countries. For instance, a credit card issued in Mexico will not be accepted in the Nintendo eShop in Argentina.

I wouldn't really care except for the fact that Nintendo are notorious for their pricing and stances on emulation that would otherwise preserve older games >_>

To be fair this is actually significantly better than the alternative. Steam basically completely removed regional pricing from their Argentinian store and now Argentinians pretty much can't afford to buy games off it.

Turkey method is absurd.

Like it's one Turkish Lira to like 6 cents USD/CAD.

Could you still just get a mexican eshop card?

No. Argentina is very specifically locked out from everyone else at this point.

Pretty much impossible.

Apparently in Argentina you can't even get a pre-paid credit card without being a citizen or PR lmao.

I knew a few people that set their 3DS to Delaware to avoid paying tax.

Only time I tried a regional purchase with Nintendo was getting Shredder's Revenge, day one release, using the Mexico store for $9.99.

Simply used PayPal to check out.

There are Ebay sellers for Xbox titles that require a VPN to spoof you're in Argentina when redeeming the game code.

One can still get terrific savings on those.
