You've never had a southwest style pizza? You can put literally anything on a pizza. Try bratwurst and brown mustard. Or crab rangoon.

And yet Brits on the Internet freak out about any foreign food that is spicier than a toast sandwich, proud of their culinary ignorance and limited tastes. To be fair, plenty of Americans are the same.
Yeah that really does describe a lot of Americans especially in the South. Salt is often the only seasoning in dishes and take caution of black pepper. Too much of it and your food will be too spicy to eat.

My MIL thinks the Bojangles fry seasoning is too spicy. If you aren't from an area of the US where Bojangles is a thing, their fry seasoning is made from salt, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and a little bit of chili powder.

I'm also very curious to know if TC has actually tasted milk/sausage gravy before since he is so keen to poop all over it. They also don't realize that we have the same brown meat gravy here too.

I've only seen honey on the crust, and it's pretty good.

Pickle pizza is a strange one that is pretty tasty. Give it a try if you ever see it.

I feel like this topic is just being used to divide Brits and Yanks, when we should all be uniting our scorn towards the French.

Saying America has weird food habits is like saying people eat weird food, because American cuisine is a patchwork of many different culinary influences... Probably the strongest in a day to day level being German, Italian, and Mexican, mixed with uniquely original southern dishes from both rural white farmers and former slaves.

This gets thrown around a lot and its such a boring and redundant argument.

I know Americans dont travel much, but the rest of the world does. Most countries have diverse food from other countries. It isnt unique to the US.

It's not an "argument" it's that the United States destroyed and displaced the indigenous peoples and their culture, and was settled by and influenced by various cultures from Europe, African slaves, and central/latin America.

There is no base American culinary tradition that isn't already made up of bits and pieces of other culinary cultures. Unlike a place like Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East where these unique food cultures developed over hundreds or even thousands of years. That's not to say they didn't have some measure of outside influence, but there was always a much stronger rooted cultural food tradition in these places.

One is not better than the other, it's just how these things came about.

Sure, other countries might have more in a way of older traditional foods than the US, but the thing that you dismiss as not an argument often gets brought up by clueless Americans who claim that the US has the best food in the world. They normally use it in the context of claiming that the US is superior while not realising that this is true of basically all developed countries and even a number of developing countries.

I live in a developing country and there arent really any cuisines I cant get here.

There is a traditional pizza in Italy called a "Mimosa" that has sweet corn as one of the toppings. It's guaranteed that any Italian that starts a restaurant in the rest of Europe will have this as a menu item.
