Yeah, it was very cringy, completely made up (he did say this but there's no historical record of him doing it while fucking, although I guess it's possible), out of place thematically for this type of movie and apparently pissed off a bunch of Hindus which is understandable

According to the NBC interview he gave in 1965 he said it after witnessing their first test, because he had come to immediately regret his decision once he saw what they created.

Not only did that scene suck for forcing that line in there, but the awkward way she's hardcore riding him, and then just randomly dismounts midway to look at his collection of books, so they can wax philosophy for a bit, only for her to continue after he reads Sanskrit because nothing gets her off more just made it even more awkward and uncomfortable.

Having a sex scene at all was weird, but then they made it worse by making it the most awkward and off-putting sex scene perhaps ever made.

I watched an old couple (like 80s) straight-up leave like 15 minutes after that scene.

Unironically, he is the first one I think of when I hear Oppenheimer.

Thus, 80s cartoons are more historically significant than 40s atom bombs.

Oh shit, Alan Oppenheimer is still alive.
Dude's 93. Damn.

It was pretty cool. I do think it's interesting how the Einstein talk which played a rather big role in the movie was made up for the movie. Apparently they weren't that close of friends in real life either and mostly just knew each other.

I have no interest in Barbenheimer. But if I had to watch one of those two movies, it would be Barbie.

Yes exactly why I was doubling down on how that twist felt so forced.

The Einstein bit was made up for the film.
