I feel like just doing that would get old. Granted in Royal I found myself finishing palaces in a day or at most two (unless I was forced to leave). I like the balanced gameplay between school life etc and dungeons.

Confidants need a revamp in the next game so it's not about sociopathically choosing the optimal dialogue response to make people like you better.

The Persona 5 palaces are legitimate dungeons with puzzles and intentional secrets. Now the randomly generated ones in earlier games, those were the worst part.

Persona suffers badly from a social links system explicitly designed to encourage replayability and a fanbase that insists on maxing out all links in a single playthrough. I don't know whether they should go harder and just make it impossible to max out everyone in a single playthrough, or back way off and make it so you don't need to min-max every day to make it happen, but I feel like nobody is happy with how it's done right now.

The Hawaii trip was worse than I remembered. I usually like these trips/breaks but it was just such a nothing part of the game. The funniest thing is Mishima getting sick I guess? It's so pointless.

Unless you literally make every single conversation response identical in terms of how it's received, then min/maxers will always do this

Okumura dungeon

I understand the Hawaii stuff is worse in the original but what upset me most about the trip in Royal is that the gang promises to buy Morgana a present since he's stuck at home and then they totally forget about it (and I don't think the gang ever realizes they flaked). I know a lot of people don't like Morgana and the whole Okumura arc is rushed but that did genuinely make me sad for him

The problem is that while p4 made them nice, fun, endearing bonding moments, p5 made every single one of them miserable.

Buffet? Shit talked by the adults, wind taken out of sails.

Fireworks? Rained out.

Hawaii? Nobody wants to be there, Nobody has fun, and you all talk about PT work the whole time.

Destinyland?... yeah, about that...

That leaves... hot pot? that one was nice.

At least Royal fixes things a bit by letting you have an actual Christmas date. Vanilla soured even that one.

Well that's what I mean honestly... however they construct social links next time, the gameplay should not be about minding what you want to say to progress the link, you should be able to authentically navigate the conversation without worrying about penalties that translate to limiting your potential in dungeons. Like, I think social links need a top to bottom rework...

I actually noticed that too. They got him jack shit and they said they would bring him something back. Were they this mean to Morganna in the original too? It seemed like they telegraphed his heel turn more in Royal. I was actually feeling bad for Morganna heh
