IDK what the problem is? Looks like Costco has a weird return policy and they didn't do anything wrong or exploitative. If Costco accepts returns on mattresses I'm not going to fault people who decide to do so

Return policies aren't meant to be used as rental systems.

It's people like this that ruin good things for everyone. Costco used to have an amazing return policy on electronics as well, now it's 90 days because people abused the shit out of it.

its tricky though, I usually do spend more at Costco, but you are buying pretty much everything in bulk. Yeah toilet paper is $40, but youre only buying it once every couple months

What good thing are they going to ruin for people? The mattress return policy, which you are upset with them using, in the first place?

EDIT: Also, stores pretty much never change a return policy because of people abusing it. They change return policies based on what market trends say will get them the most profit.

What kinda shit they got at Costco anyway? Is it just groceries and shit? Do they have clothing like target?

I'm still trying to figure out whether I want a hybrid or memory foam mattress.

They have literally everything. Problem being, theres no organization in their store layout.

one side of the aisle could have dish soap and light bulbs, and the other will have oil for your car and juice.

You can get the money back pretty easily just by buying those $100 gift card packs they sell for $80 for restaurants and such

ive only been to one, so maybe I just havent caught on to their methods yet

there isnt an overhead sign to tell you what is in each aisle, so that is probably part of my problem.

Do you really believe said megacorpo with all of their lawyers, advisors, and other policy and sale professionals is going to set a store policy like this without knowing that people are going to "abuse it" like this?

Do you think that when people do this, they aren't making that money back somewhere else?

It's literally store policy. If anything, you're losing out because the store has successfully gotten you on their side and you are not willing to use that policy to your full potential as a consumer.

Stores don't change store policy because of people abusing them, they change it because it is no longer advantageous enough for the store.
