I hate to say it but I find some stuff relatable.

It's essentially the Nickelback of sitcoms.

It's not exactly a masterpiece, but it's way over hated.

Not really, I dont laugh much but its fun to see how the relationships evolve, character growths etc.

It got over-hated on the internet due to the concept of the show but overall it's still way better than most sitcoms. It's fine, easy to digest and often funny.

I dont notice the laugh track anymore, except when it happens when nothing even happened in the scene.

I found the jokes funny when I used to watched. I was watching it as it aired for a while, but I fell behind after season 5 and never picked it back up. I've done that with several shows that I enjoyed though, not a knock on Big Bang Theory.

Also its fun to go back in time for pretty accurate nerd, internet and pop culture references.

I have to say, my favourite Sheldon thing this far (in s5 I think) is when he got the new office and was annoyed the bird outside was out of tune with thr windchimes and on the whiteboard there was Bird and then lots of notes written on it, he actually took his time to write the birds notes.

It was a subtle joke and I love that.

Im at mid s6 atm.

Most annoying part is Leonard and Pennys love stuff, its like the writers have no idea how to progress it yet.

Favourite is both Sheldons and Howards character development.

You have entered the dark side. I used to hate BBT myself but Ill watch reruns on TV after work if its on.

Watching TBBT edits where they cut out the laugh track really does a lot to highlight just how unfunny and poorly acted the show is. It's worse than the fart jokes on Rick and Morty.

I still hate it. Because I cannot take a joke at my expense.

I enjoyed it. It's just the internet hate machine prevented people from really talking about it when it aired.

I appreciate that the jokes were authentic and relatable. The running joke about Howard being a failure for only having a masters in aerospace engineering while the others had phds in theoretical Sciences was hilarious, not just because "haha no phd", but this is a very real rivalry. My wife is an aerospace engineer and the physics majors always walked around with a superiority complex against the "applied" Sciences.

I also love the arguments they'd get into, like whether the Hulk could pick up a table holding Thor's hammer. They're the same kind of discussion topics you'd find on CE back in the day.

I also read articles about how they hired nerdy consultants to assist with the physics problems and even the comics/video game jokes. Also helps a lot of the cast enjoy those things too. You can tell by the attention to detail in so many of their pop culture need references.

Show seemed harmless enough, and it felt like hating on it was just another dumb internet fad. I cant believe people unironically called it black face for nerds

I only ever watched the first season and didnt feel compelled to watch more, but it wasnt bad or anything.

good analogy, I definitely feel like BBT gets too much hate.

It's a geeky show about geeks... I can definitely understand the hate for the later seasons since it gets stale though and the character development goes backwards for some of the characters in season 11/12.

I disagree... any show that uses laugh tracks will produce the same result when you take them out.
Same thing if you turn off the music in a movie.

All of a sudden that scary part in a horror movie, will feel shallow.

Early BBT was actually really good and the best part of the show was Amy trying to get with Sheldon...

Problem was as soon as Amy finally got Sheldon, the show lost its funniest plot device and the show never recovered until they finally ended it....

Credit to them at least they knew when to walk away which is more than i can for that show...The Simpsons...

Show is undeservedly hated. It's a solid laugh track sitcom.

For me it's a decent show, but in moderation. I couldn't binge watch it.

Gotta say, they have lots of real food in this show. Pretty much every episode. Never seen that before. Not realized it before but with binge watching Ive noticed.

I don't like the show, but this is such a bad take. Any show with a laugh track that has it edited out is going to be unfunny and poorly acted. It's like arguing that Grease is a terrible movie and using the video that takes the music out of the Grease Lightning scene as evidence.

Product advertising in shows and movies got very heavy during this era at some point, blatant shots of the actors moving the product and it's logo facing the camera and whatnot. The most popular prime time shows like this seemed to be the worst offenders.

Im on s7 and barely noticed it, Im talking about the takeout they have every episode, food at the university cafeteria etc.

I loathe The Big Bang Theory but enjoy Young Sheldon. The later has a sort of Malcom in the Middle vibe while the Big Bang Theory tries to be Friends but with nerds. Friends is offensively unfunny.

It's a good show. Obviously it's not flawless, but there's a lot of quality shit there. A lot of really intelligent people like it. It's funny on so many levels to so many different types of people. I stopped watching when network cable became unbearable, but eventually I'll rewatch the whole thing and get the rest of it.
