You click new game and are sudenly expected to be recognise what a Blorgaborg is and where and what Slinkytown is.

Sometimes games have data logs or whatever but I still find it annoying. I get the desire for show don't tell but sometimes some exposition would be nice.

This is what made me have to restart the Stormlight Archives either two or three times. Took me a while to wrap my head around what a spren was supposed to be and why nobody seemed to react to them too much.

I think there's a balance. Something like FF7 is nice. You're thrown into an action scene where you don't really have to know the details, nd then have those details explained to you as you start delving into the story

I liked how in FF7, instead of the tutorial NPCs explaining to you stuff, they asked Cloud, and he was the one explaining, because he was an experienced SOLDIER.
