I know the body heals itself during sleep, not sure if that applies to external wounds also. Curious to know now.

To a degree yes. If its a superficial, maybe even slightly deeper than that and not infected, yeah your body is gonna work harder to heal if when sleeping.

Infection? Youre fucked unless you do something.

My understanding is that a cut that you get during the day will heal faster than one you get at night, but after that while youre sleeping is when the bulk of growth hormone shit goes on while youre sleeping.
