Does it really have higher player count than it was at its lowest, or is that inflated by bots? Do pubs still have 3 sniper bots?

I've been slowly developing the urge to go back but it's probably not the game I grew up with. Gun Mettle and the pressure to "respond" to Overwatch permanently did a number on the fun casual pub map times and the presentation of the game. Remember seeing this when selecting a gamemode?

God, you know what I miss? The real default Pyro flamethrower being the Degreaser, and Pyro playing like a brawler that could instantly switch after airblast into the minicrit-on-airborne shotgun

My inventory is filled with crates that were once 3 cents and are now several dollars each. Just discovered that recently and realized it's why I get so many friend requests from bots-- my account is a high value scammer target.

I have 4 keys, 1 Buds, and 3 Bills. According to the starting price on the Steam, that's at least $50 worth of shit! Should I sell it off?

It's carnage. Bots still reign.

The F2Ps have gone through multiple generations. The latest is the most lifeless and interchangeable yet. They constantly bring up Youtubers. Fads are things like repeatedly saying "Engineer gaming" and "sex update"

The game is currently pay to talk. In an attempt to stop bots from spamming the chat with huge messages or vulgarity, Valve made it so only pay-to-play people can talk. Curious, starry-eyed noobs are gone, replaced with what is sometimes indistinguishable from an actual bot.

Soldier's voice actor is dead, casual/comp matchmaking gutted community servers, unfinished and sometimes flat out nonfunctional maps make it into the game, they recently got us hyped up for an actual update just to dump more paid animations, cosmetics and lootboxes on us.
There's a whole bunch of dark clouds over TF2.
But I'm still excited for TF2 Halloween.
