Freaking fantastic movie, I was utterly enthralled. Makes me hate Steve Jobs so much, he's such a complete asshole. The worst part is so much of his personality instantly reminds me of my boss and it depresses me... but I digress.

I'm surprised it didn't cover the 2000s period with the ipod and i-craze which really sent Apple from the near bankrupt company to a multi-billion dollar company that the Disney ceo is literally willing to sell to.

Kate Winslet, Michael Fassbender, even freaking Seth Rogen is good, this is like that time Jonah Hill was in Moneyball. Great likable performances.

I remember they also did a Steve Jobs movie with Ashton Kutcher. Never saw either of them, but the concept of Ashton Kutcher playing Steve Jobs is just utterly obnoxious to me. This I might watch if someone puts it in front of me.

I do remember seeing some hints of what Steve Jobs is like in that really old TV movie Pirates of Silicon Valley with the guy from ER portraying Jobs, but it was so long ago I don't remember much about it.

You know what I like but also kinda hate about this movie real life wise? Steve Jobs was right. The movie shows him comparing computers to paintings way back in the 80s and 90s, before the technology could catch up, and how he wanted everything to be closed system and talking about how people don't know what they want we'll tell them what they want. And now Apple is the richest biggest company in the world because they do exactly that and have great marketing, probably exclusively because of the great marketing.

The movie shows him with other people like Steve Wozniak who tell him that computers aren't paintings and they should always be open for people to mess around with, and Jobs is like no way. And they ask him what his contributions are because he can't even code or do anything and he says he's the conductor. And he stuck with this philosophy all the way to the 2000s with the i-craze, and then the iPhone changed everything forever.

It's a powerful scene in the movie but it sucks that it's really true, people are idiots and companies are constantly limiting what consumers can do with products they bought and the majority is OK with that because they don't know better or care

I would have been fine if fassbender won the Oscar that year instead of Leo for the revenant

I didn't even recognize Kate Winslet in this movie, it's crazy what a simple black wig can do. I was like who is that who is it could it be... Rachel Weisz? Before I caved and looked at the cast list.
