HIGHLAND, Ind. A woman in Highland, Indiana is recovering after she was attacked by eight to 10 dogs while walking her own dog.

Police said Neyhart attempted to shield her dog but was bitten by one of the larger, adult dogs in the group.

Witnesses attempted to separate the aggressive dogs from Neyhart and her dog. Those people were also bitten, police said.

Police said an unknown man shot the adult dog and then fled. The dog died.

Neyharts dog was taken to the vet but had to be euthanized because of the injuries.

Neyhart was transported to the hospital with injuries to her arms and legs.

The remaining dogs were ultimately gathered up and returned into the owners residence.

Police said charges against the dogs owner are pending.

Investigate the owner, also charge him for the damages his dogs done, as it's like he personally did it.

I don't have a strong opinion on pitbulls and no matter how hard you try I never will.

I unironically agree. He should be charged for the murder of a pet and aggravated assault along with attempted murder.

I dunno. I lived in Baltimore and they were fucking everywhere.

They're glorified by "tough" guys of every variety. The kind of people that shouldn't be responsible for taking care of any sort of living being.

And pit bulls alone are enough of a reason to stay strapped. Can't even walk your dog or go for a jog without fear of some jackasses pibble eating it's way out of their backyard and into the flesh of you or your pet.

Honestly I associate pit bulls with white trash because the apartment complex I used to live in was fucking full of them. Two of the families "bred" pit bulls to pay for their oxy addictions.

Pit bulls are just the champion dogs of trashy people who glorify them for their power. The kind of people that shouldn't be allowed to raise goldfish let alone potentially dangerous animals.

And then you have the bleeding hearts who feel compassion toward them.. the pibble mommies. Which I don't have any hard feelings for, until they get stupid with it and think their dog is some sweet little social thing that ends up attacking someone else's dog.

A good amount of them are great dogs raised by great owners. But you'd be a dumbass to assume one was without intimately knowing the owner and dog. Really this applies to any dog, you're just more likely to encounter a trash dog raised by a dip shit if it's a pit bull.

I don't usually hate much on pitbulls, but the owner of the pits should never be allowed to own dogs again.

All of those dogs need to be removed from the owner and euthanized.

Despite anyone's bias or agenda, these stories are real and are happening a lot. I don't see how anyone can think there isn't a problem with these dogs. Is it so wrong to ask for more regulations to keep these powerful dogs out of irresponsible hands?

I think it's reasonable to be fearful of a dog breed that has a documented history of maiming and killing.

I certainly wouldn't want to be anywhere near one.

All I'm gonna agree to. No one needs to own more then 2 dogs of any breed. Actually add cats to that too.

I don't think any owner of a real American Pit Bull Terrier (not the mixed curs running around that people like to call Pit Bulls) would say that dog v dog aggression is not a part of a Pit Bull's genetics. They have bulldog and terrier ancestry, of course they are often animal/dog aggressive (have you seen any terrier breed in action?)
