They now get $170k:
After contract negotiations this summer, full-time drivers for UPS saw their salaries boosted from $145,000 to $170,000 annually including benefits, according to data shared by the shipping company on a recent call.

Good point on #1. BBC says ~$100k in salary, with the old $145k figure:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-66445496.amp

Assuming benefit costs are the same, thats now $125k in straight salary for driving and delivering boxes. Wild.

I dont care about some random article vs reputable news agencies reporting it straight from an earnings call from UPS. UPS gets no benefits in telling their stockholders in an earnings call that theyre paying a ridiculously high amount.

UPS own website got updated:
UPS full-time small package delivery drivers receive an average total compensation package of $145,000 per year. That includes $0 healthcare premiums, up to seven weeks of paid vacation, plus paid time off for holidays, sick leave and option days. UPS also makes contributions to a defined-benefit pension plan for each employee.

Our long-haul team drivers average $172,000 per year in total compensation. UPS pays $0.95 per mile after four years, nearly double the trucking industry average. This pay is in addition to the same industry-leading healthcare, paid time off, vacation, holidays, sick leave and pension contributions as our full-time small package delivery drivers.

ups own site

https://about.ups.com/us/en/newsroom/negotiations/media-fast-facts.html

On average, delivery drivers earn $95,000 per year in wages.

https://news.yahoo.com/ups-driver-pay-deal-us-183658717.html

UPS driver pay and benefits deal in US to be worth $170,000 a year, firm says

Prior to the new deal, the company said drivers earned about $95,000 in pay annually on average or about $42 an hour, and another $50,000 in benefits.

So sounds like they make $50k but the company puts their benefit as "worth" 120k

wow

The nationwide average salary for UPS drivers is $56,146 per year or $27 per hour.

There's also the fact that very few drivers are guys just hired off the street. It was 1/5 last I was there and youre usually getting a former employee of a rival company.

Generally, youve put in nearly a decade working inside operations as a part timer before you get a chance to bid on a driver position. That's why every driver you see is at least 30.

You misunderstood my post. I said UPS has no gains in publically stating, in an earnings call to their investors, that theyre paying a ridiculous amount for their drivers, so if anything, theyre downplaying the $170k figure, because investors want any additional profit sent back to them. I didnt say the pay is a ridiculous amount. Though I do think it is a ridiculous amount for the job they do, but good for them; UPS drivers are noticeably better than FedEx and I like UPS.

https://www.comparably.com/salaries/salaries-for-ups-driver-united-parcel-service-driver

U.S. Average
$68,369

https://www.truckdriverssalary.com/ups-driver-salary/

Currently, the starting salary for a UPS package car driver is $18.75 an hour.
At 12 months, that rises to $19.50 an hour. At 24 months, it increases to $21 an hour. At 36 months, it jumps to $25 an hour. The average top rate is $37.06 an hour.
These local drivers earn, on average, roughly $23.82 an hour.

Lets say you are making $21 an hour starting out as a UPS brown truck driver, and you are driving 40 hours a week. Over the course of a year, you would earn $43,680. That is a pretty sweet starting salary!
Now imagine you stay with UPS for long enough to become one of their top-earning package car drivers. If you are earning $40.51/hour and working 40 hours a week, your annual salary would be $84,260.

ah there it is

https://www.pressherald.com/2023/08/08/everyone-wants-to-work-at-ups-after-union-scores-170000-driver-pay/

UPS shared some details of the new labor contract on its earnings call. Full-time drivers will make around $170,000 in annual pay and benefits by the end of the five year contract.

5 years from now maybe they might be able to add up the pay and benefits for the top earners and it come out to an inflated 170k

again:
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-66445496

UPS said the average full-time driver would earn about $170,000 (135,000) annually, including healthcare and other benefits, by the end of the five-year contract.

But again this is what UPS is saying and they aren't paying that money they are figuring benefits 5 years from now they give be worth that.....

Yet every other source says the average a driver makes is 50-60 k

that is 110k difference.....
