That angle I can understand. It's extremely unfair, but we're not really allowed to make the same mistakes as other people. The political climate is so toxic, that people are looking for any reason to paint the trans community in a bad light, even just with the actions of a few people. So I get why it might be frustrating for someone's journey to be turned into this whole fake saga. It's also one of the reasons there was some discussion about how gunpla's behavior makes us look.

But honestly, we don't move past that by shitting on each other. People are going to demonize us even if every single one of us are picture perfect 24/7. That energy is better spent helping those that are struggling imo

Yeah, it's not fair, :/ . I have a lot of deep-seated angst and fear about all of what's going on these days, and so I keenly feel anything that could make things even worse for us. We have a very precarious position in society, so I have very strong feelings about stuff like this.

As for a more recent lesson I've learned, as it turns out camisoles with shelf bras are by no means a satisfactory alternative to even a bralette. Ouch.

Alright. You know what? This is all I wanted. In one of those pregnancy topics, when you were talking about wanting to transition and present as a woman, and wear dresses, etc., I said that you should do whatever makes you happy.

That's still true today. I want you to be happy, because even if the details of that life weren't real, the feelings you expressed through the stories felt very real. That's why so many of us believed you--the raw emotion came through as genuine. Now that you're telling us it was a real outlet of struggle and frustration, just with different specifics, it means that you were honest in an important way.

It might be a little tough to rebuild the trust, and some people will probably stay mad about it, but I for one appreciate the honesty, and I forgive you for the lies.

I absolutely meant and felt every single thing I said about wanting to wear dresses, feel feminine, etc. Those feelings got so strong last year, I couldn't hold them in anymore. And I didn't know how to express them in a way that didn't give me away.

tbqh as someone who has "flip-flopped" on their gender identity and sexual orientation for nearly 3 decades, i find the notion that being trans or going through any amount of gender identity crisis means you have to make a decision and stick to it, otherwise "legitimate" trans people might not be taken seriously, to be pretty indistinguishable from garden variety transphobia in terms of ultimate damage to the community you claim youre protecting

theres no "right" way to transition, you can be cis one day, trans the next, and vice versa
not figuring it out, either through choice or inability is okay
having a semi-private semi-anonymous personal crisis on a dying message board isnt going to make waves in society

i understand wanting to be accepted for who you are, but limiting the ways in which others can be aint a great way to go at it

It must must suck having a limited ability to show support. Thankfully, no amount of someone being fake is going to eat up my supportive reserves, and if this is real, the support being shown to her can do wonders in helping her through struggles that I could never even begin imagine.

I think I look a lot better as a woman than I ever did as a guy, but I'm sure some of that is just my gender dysphoria messing with who I see in the mirror. But I feel pretty for the first time in my life, and boy does that feel amazing.

This whole thing was pretty weird, but ultimately I wasn't invested enough to have it bother me. We have much worse people here. For better or worse, you're amongst your peers here

At a certain point, I had to recognize that it wasn't healthy to live a fantasy life as a woman instead of living my real life as one. This has been really hard, but I don't regret even a moment of choosing to transition. It's made me a far more honest, empathetic, and happy person.

And I also discovered, I never really was a man to begin with. Sure, I had a male body, but I wasn't a man. Never was. And learning to accept that was a struggle, but I'm glad I did.
