So we told them we would not be renewing our lease. Now its listed on Zillow for less then we currently pay.

Ideally we would like to buy but with prices just having skyrocketed as they have we may have to hold out a few more years.

A few years that will be drawn out further by other landlords leeching away money that would otherwise have gone into savings, and by that point prices will have been driven up by other investors trying to either hold onto properties for speculation purposes or rent them out for easy profit. It's not exactly a system that's designed to be easy to get out of.
